COURSE DESCRIPTION – Introduction to Drafting and Architecture is open to students in grades 9-12. This is a good course for students who are interested in engineering or related fields, architecture, interior design, and so on. Drafting play a large role as a means of precisely and accurately communicating ideas and information about homes, machines, parts and any product that can be made. Through multi-view drawings, floor plans, isometric drawings, dimensions and specifications, parts can be manufactured in all parts of the world and brought together in an assembly plant and fit together.

Free hand sketching is done for the first making period. During the second and part of the third marking period students draw using AutoCAD (Computer Added Drafting). Part of the third and fourth marking period is spent using CAD to draw a floor plan of a house. The end of the fourth marking is spent drawing 3D objects using AutoCAD.
